Travel to Glasgow and the John Anderson Campus

By Air

Glasgow Airport (Tel: 0141 887 1111)

By car you would join the M8 junction 28 west bound and leave at junction 15 (approx. 15 mins drive). Refer to map for further details. There are frequent airport buses to the city centre.

Edinburgh Airport (Tel: 0131 333 1000)

By car you would join the A8 west bound, follow signs for the M8 and leave at junction 15 (approx. 50 mins drive). Refer to map for further details.

Prestwick Airport (Tel: 01292 479822)

John Anderson Campus

By car you would join A77/M77 which meets the M8 at junction 22. Join the M8 east bound and leave at junction 15. Refer to map for further details. There is a half hourly train service between the airport and Glasgow Central station which takes 45 mins.

By Rail

GNER operate rail services from London Kings Cross (via Newcastle) to Glasgow Central (approx. 5hrs 30mins). Virgin West Coast operate rail services from London Euston (via Carlisle) to Glasgow Central (approx. 5hrs 15mins). ScotRail operate sleeper services from London Euston as well as all local services within Scotland. Trains from Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen Street Station are every 15 minutes with a journey time of 50 minutes. Virgin Cross Country operate direct services between Scotland and most major English cities.

By Coach

Buchanan Street Bus Station (Tel: 0141 332 7133)

All National Express/CityLink services leave from here as do services to most surrounding towns.

By Car

From England and the south via the M6 and M74(A74) motorways. Leave the M74 Jct 4 to join the M73 Jct 1. Leave the M73 junction 2 to join the M8 Jct 8 west bound. Exit the M8 Jct 15 for the University's John Anderson Campus. Refer to map for further details.

From Stirling and the north via the M9, M80(A80) and M8 motorways. (Traffic from Fife should follow signs for the Kincardine Bridge and then join the M876). Exit the M8 Jct 15 for the University's John Anderson Campus. Refer to map for further details.

From Edinburgh and the east via M8. East Lothian and Northumberland traffic on the A1 should take the A720 Edinburgh City By-pass to join the M8. Tyneside traffic should take the A69 Carlisle Road and join the M6 at Jct 44, the intersection with the A 74(M) northbound, then M73 and M8. Exit the M8 Jct 15 for the University's John Anderson Campus. Refer to map for further details.

Travel within Glasgow

Underground services are available every 4-8 mins depending on the time of day you are travelling. The nearest station for John Anderson Campus is Buchanan Street.
