MIDESS Digital Repository dissemination day, 4th May 2007 at University of Leeds

The MIDESS digital repositories project is pleased to announce a major dissemination event to present key results and findings from the project. This will take place at the Edward Boyle Library, University of Leeds, Friday 4th May 2007 (10:30 - 15:00).

Presentations from the project partners will cover:

  • Repository software for managing images and multimedia-Digitool, Fedora and Dspace
  • Metadata issues, including the use of METS
  • Harvesting and sharing data through OAI-PMH
  • IPR and rights issues in a repository context

Lunch will be provided. There is no charge for attendance but places are limited. If you are interested in attending this event, please email the Project Manager, Steve Charles, (mailto:s.j.charles@leeds.ac.uk ) by Friday 20th April.

The MIDESS Project is a JISC-funded project exploring the management of digitised content through the development of digital repository infrastructures. It is addressing in particular multimedia repositories and how these can support the use of digital content in a learning and research context. Project partners are University of Birmingham, University of Leeds, London School of Economics and University College, London.
