QA Focus

Supporting Best Practices For Digital Library Programmes

The QA Focus Web site provides a wide range of resources designed to support those involved in the development of digital library services, including those ranging from those involved project activities to members of Web team who have a responsibility for managing Web services.

The resources available on this Web site include a wide range of Briefing Documents and a selection of Case Studies.

Background

The QA Focus project was funded by the JISC to support JISC's digital library programmes. QA Focus was provided by a partnership of UKOLN (University of Bath) and the AHDS (who replaced the TASI service).

Funding for the QA Focus project began on 1st January 2002 and finished on 31st July 2004. However in light of the valuable resources which had been produced it was decided to continue to host the resources and to continue production of new briefing documents and case studies.

The Final Report of the QA Focus project is available together with an Impact Analysis report.

QA Focus's remit was to help ensure that project deliverables are interoperable and widely accessible. We seek to ensure that projects deploy standards and best practices. We do this by providing support materials which explain the recommended standards and best practices.

QA Focus also developed a QA methodology which is suited to projects' development environment and culture.

An introduction to the work on QA Focus is given in the Summary of the QA Focus Methodology and Implementing Your Own QA briefing documents.
