Introduction

The JISC IE Metadata Schema Registry (IEMSR) project is funded by JISC through its Shared Services Programme. The IEMSR project is developing a metadata schema registry as a pilot shared service within the JISC Information Environment.

Phase 1 of the project ran for 18 months, from January 2004 until June 2005. Partners in Phase 1 of the project were UKOLN, University of Bath and the Institute for Learning and Research Technology (ILRT), University of Bristol.

The Centre for Educational Technology Interoperability Standards (CETIS) and the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (Becta) also contributed to the project in different areas.
