Access From PDAs To JISC 5/99 Projects In Scotland

This survey allows access to be made on PDAS to JISC 5/99 projects in Scotland. It makes use of the AvantGo service.

Notes

Please note the following:

• You will need an AvantGo username and password to create a channel. This can be obtained free-of-charge.
• You will need to download the channels to a PDA (such as a Palm or PocketPC) in order to analyse the findings.
• The link to the AvantGo service has been configured so that a maximum of 200K will be retrieved and no images will be downloaded.

Discussion

The AvantGo service usproxy to retrieve pages from Web sites and convert them to a format suitable for viewing on a PDA. If a Web site can be accessed and is richly functional on a PDA this is an indication that the resource is likely to be accessible on a wide range of devices.
