Use of Social Web Services
Brian Kelly makes use of the following Social Web services to support his professional activities at UKOLN. Note that only services which host significant intellectual content are listed.
Social Web Services
The following services provide access to content.
- Social Bookmarking: Delicious
- The Delicious social bookmarking service is used primarily for bookmarking key UKOLN resources in order to be able to monitor their usage together with bookmarking resources used in presentations.
- Social Bookmarking: Diigo
- The Diigo social bookmarking service is used as an alternative to Delicious.
- Video Resource Sharing: Vimeo
- The Vimeo video sharing service is used to store videos which can be easily embedded elsewhere.
- Slide Resource Sharing: Slideshare
- The lisbk account on Slideshare is used to host PowerPoint slides.
- Slide Resource Sharing: Authorstream
- The Authorstream service is used to host PowerPoint slides. This service has been used to evaluate the potential of the service. Currently only a small number of resources are hosted on the service.
