This page provides gives details of the discussion groups at the workshop on Initiatives & Innovation: Managing Disruptive Technologies organised by the UCISA WLF, CETIS and UKOLN.
The morning discussion groups will take place from 11:20-12:20, with a report back from 13:10-13:35.
Delegates have been allocated a discussion group (red, blue, yellow or green). The groups have been allocated a discussion topic. Please ensure that you attend the group you have been assigned and that your group sticks to the topic. However if delegates have a strong interest in a topic they have not been allocated, it may be possible to allow a small number of changes.
Note that there will be report backs of the main conclusions from the discussion groups and we will encourage the groups to document their discussions.
In your discussion group please address the following broad issues.
Note that due to the short period of time for the report back, reporters should only report on issues, ideas, suggestions, etc. which the group feel are particularly important or significant.
If members of the discussion group have network access they may find it useful to make use of a Wiki to key notes of the discussion group using the following tools:
A real-time discussion room was available during the sessisons. You can use this to discussion the content of the talk with other delegates.
Note that one room may be set up as a 'back channel' - which may be used by the speaker during the talk.
An experimental IRC chat service was available during the sessions.
