WWW 7 Conference Report

About the Talk

A seminar on the Seventh International World Wide Web Conference was given by Brian Kelly, UKOLN at the University of Bristol on Wednesday 3rd June 1998 at 1 pm. The seminar was hosted by the ILRT.

The seminar covered:

• An overview of the conference
• The W3C track on web protocol developments
• The Developer's Day session on RDF, the Resource Description Framework
• A summary of a number of the technical papers, including those on metadata systems, searching and indexing techniques, web characterisations, browsers and tools and applications in education and training.

The seminar included an opportunity for questions and general discussions on web developments.

Brian Kelly is UK Web Focus, a national web coordination post for the UK Higher Education community. Brian is based at UKOLN, University of Bath. Brian has attended the first, fifth, sixth and seventh WWW conferences.
