OMNI: Organising Medical Networked Information
as of 4th July 1997
The OMNI Gateway is a database of Internet resources in medicine, biomedicine, allied health, health management and related topics. We provide comprehensive coverage of UK resources in the area and access to the best resources worldwide. By a process of selection, evaluation and description we are constantly updating our collection.
All resources included in OMNI are assessed by our own check-list of quality criteria. OMNI aims to cover only high quality, content rich material and rejects advertising, most personal home pages and material of purely local interest. We provide a quick, efficient route to the most significant resources in your subject area.
Visitors to the OMNI web site may search our databases or browse more than 50 broad topic areas. Unlike many other search services, all resources included in OMNI are indexed, classified and described in full, enabling the user to quickly locate potential sources of information and to assess their relevance.
