DLMS - Dynamic Learning Maps

OER is something that has been on the radar for DLMs for some time although we'll openly admit that our initial attempts at integrating open resources have not been perfect.  The main reason for attending is to find out what others are doing and get some inspiration for finding a workable solution for DLMs.

UKOER programme.

I'm responsible as part of a team for developing and setting national OER policy, as delivered via the UKOER programme which I manage. We've always been keen to see developer- and idea- led innovation, as opposed to setting up national standards and frameworks and this event (along with a series of small projects to be supported by CETIS) will be instrumental in supporting this.

I want to be at this event so I know how the programme can support emerging ideas, where further investment may be needed, where we might be barking up the wrong tree and to tell Pat Lockley that, no, he can't have any more metadata.

OERca - No other name.
New publishing platform for Open Michigan, URL not yet published.

OER production and publishing is a laborious process which can be significantly automated and enhanced with software. Building and improving that software; I'm quite keen on participating in a community of software developers interested in creating and contributing to OER production and publishing software.

Used to do lots of procedural coding long ago although I have tried many languages. Our web developer used .NET and ASPX coding in our website pages and on a good day I can keep up. However, if its not a daily habit then these skills erode.

OER Phase 2 - OeRBITAL

Wish to leverage the functionality of Web 2.0 by gaining some tricks, tips and hacks to extend the reach of our OER projects.
We have already used a 'hack' to get the JORUM repository to display directly through our website for our OER pilot project, in the absence of an API.

The Learning Registry is built on top of CouchDB.  It currently uses Python for API layer.  Data models are in JSON.  We're working on SWORD and OAI-PMH interfaces

Try to hook up the Learning Registry with UK OER collections.

Looking at using technology to support special needs. Am interested in using existing technologies modified for use with LLDD students. Already trying out mobilizers / mobile sites for better screenreader access, RSS to HTML for simple dynamic news stories, email as an accessible method to book taxis & write blogs, speech recognition with VOCAs to access mainstream PCs.
Would like to discover more and learn new skills to embed in my job role.
