The problem we've got is we've put so much effort into making contribute a pleasant experience for web authors, convincing them to move to a cms might be tricky. But from our/the university's long-term point of view it does make sense to shift over.
Anyway I'm sure we can meet up in Aberdeen and exchange symfony and cms ideas.

Mark Eyles sent through the follow-up email and I presume he was the chap I spoke to! We're Dreamweaver/Contribute for a lot of our content and while it's manageable at the moment, we do need to be clearer about how new features are integrated into the site, and it's not easy to offer them with Contribute.

Aha, was that Darryl?
Yes Squiz are getting increasingly interested in the HE sector, which obviously tends to gravitate towards low-budget open-source solutions. They nearly came along to IWMW, but thought they might wait till next year.
We're in the early stages of running a pilot at the moment. We use dreamweaver and contribute as a 'CMS' at the moment, and we really need to try to move away from this in the long-term.
Matrix has some nice enterprise level features, and bearing in mind it's basically free/very cheap it seems good. However it does have a few limitations which may or may not be a problem depending on what you want.

Hi Matthew,

Just got a call from someone at Squiz who knows you! I've agreed to watch a webex but I'd be interested to hear your experiences. I'm not normally a fan of "CMS" but I'm always open to changing my views!
