Are the slides available for this talk?
Can't see them. Shame, we could see the pictures better then!
Really like the idea of the VRE but it's not just about the IPR and copyright issues. We still have a research community that works in silos and there are no 'real' drivers for change.
I very much agree with this. That's the kinds of issue(s) I mean by 'traditions' and cultural issues. It might have been useful if I had spent some time on detailing the workpackages for the project. (Paul Shabajee)
One of the joys of having a wiki like this is that the speaker can add things that they forgot to mention in their talk. One important point I forgot to mention is about being and feeling excluded - I noted it in the 'Hot or Not' article "feeling of being excluded, not not only if you do not have a computer and wireless network card but simply by not being part of a particular online group..." In all contexts this is an important and problematic set of issues. (Paul Shabajee)
We'll try to get the files uploaded later today/tomorrow.
