Uniform Resource Names

URLs, the addresses used on the Web, provide the location of a given resource. If a resource moves, its URL changes. URNs are intended to overcome this problem by providing a long term identifier for resources. Given a URN, a Web browser will be able to resolve it into one or more URLs to discover the location of the resource. This is achieved by using a resolution service.

The URN for the Web version of Ariadne is:

urn:issn:1361-3200
