UKOLN Concertation Day on the Bath Profile

The Charity Centre, London
26 November 1999

Since the release of a draft of The Bath Profile: An International Z39.50 Specification for Library Applications and Resource Discovery, there has been a great deal of interest in the UK and elsewhere in this Profile and its application.

This open meeting is intended as a forum to discuss the ongoing development of the Profile and its implementation within the UK.

Registration

There is no charge for the meeting, but places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Participants will need to meet their own travel costs.

Those wishing to attend should contact Joy Fraser at UKOLN with the following details:

Who Should Attend?

The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in this area.

Specifically, it is intended to explore issues related to deploying the Bath Profile for UK Higher Education's Distributed National Electronic Resource (DNER), and is therefore relevant to all staff and projects likely to be included within the DNER. We also aim to gauge the feasibility of having vendor products adapted to the Profile, and would welcome representatives from vendor companies to discuss this and other issues related to the Profile.

Venue

We are meeting at The Charity Centre, 24 Stephenson Way NW1 2DP, just off North Gower St, close to London's Euston Station (see http://uk.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?GridE=529407&GridN=182472&place=NW12DP&db=pc).

The day will commence with coffee/ registration at 10:30, and we would aim to be finished by 16:30 that afternoon. A buffet lunch will be served.

For further information on the Profile and its development, see http://www.ariadne.ac.uk/issue21/at-the-event/bath-profile.html.
