Purpose of Workshop

In Phase 1 (September 2003 - August 2004) the eBank UK project investigated the 'publication at source' of research data in a specific scientific area, crystallography. Based on the open access model, the project produced a prototype repository of crystallography data which enables self-archiving of data by chemists. A demonstrator service was developed to allows users to search available data repositories and make links to the published literature.

The aims of this workshop are to reach consensus on a data model and schema for exchange of crystallography 'structure reports'. To explore feasibility of extending this data model and schema to other scientific domains.

Target Audience and Participating Organisations

The workshop is by invitation only and aims to bring together a number of stakeholders in the production, publication and re-use of scientific data, including:
