Recent planning in higher education has led to the concept of a distributed national electronic resource. The British Library is putting in place the framework for its digital library services. What steps should be taken to ensure that libraries make best use of these resources within an open framework for information management? What services should be provided to allow these services to appear as part of a manageable collection rather than a series of individual opportunities?
The workshop will consider the range of services in the light of the MODELS Information Architecture. The focus will be specific: identifying particular implementation, deployment and organisational issues that will move things forward. The workshop will also take account of any developments arising from the LIC Public Library Networking Plan Working Group report.
