Cat-Assess

To assist the library community in making performance measurement of services, UKOLN has developed Cat-Assess as a method for measuring the quality of records in a catalogue. The Cat-Assess pages provide full instructions for carrying out the assessment. The method can be used to assess whole catalogues or parts of catalogues such as specific collections or types of materials. UKOLN has developed Cat-Assess in collaboration with Essex Libraries and with Owen Massey, who carried out the pilot study in 2000 as his dissertation project at the Library and Information Studies department at Loughborough University.
