Aim
To identify strategy and policy issues for the long term preservation of digital materials
which might be applicable to the UK situation
Objectives
- To analyse the
CPA/RLG Report
- To identify the recommendations in this report which can be used to generate activity in the
UK and foster international cooperation
- To identify and consider other appropriate documents and opinion on this report
- To organise an invitation meeting with representatives from universities, BL/national
libraries, academic publishers, archives, public and special libraries and other relevant
parties.
Benefits
- Provide a basis for agreement and prioritisation of UK strategy and policy with regard to
digital preservation in the UK.
- Bring together and update best practice and expertise in digital preservation by drawing on
US experience and comment from elsewhere
- Raise awareness of UK issues in digital preservation
