Something about the site — http://www.oucs.ox.ac.uk

  • Standard computing services content (ie page on how to configure Outlook Express)
  • Now largely converted from static HTML to XML (6 man months?)
  • Distributed authorship (25 people?), using Notepad, vi, XMetaL, Emacs etc
  • Only way onto the site is by using version control system
  • Authoring HTML not (yet) banned
Yes, of course we have pockets of Word and Dreamweaver.
