The Text Encoding Initiative markup

The TEI has four qualities which are desirable in a multi-author web environment:

  1. Exceptionally rich paragraph-level vocabulary
  2. Mature and powerful metadata (the <teiHeader>)
  3. A well-defined and powerful system of modularity and extensions
  4. Strong and stable documentation
We use a small set of extensions for web authoring.
