URLs:
- Break
- Limited (provide location, not unique name)
URNs (Uniform Resource Names):
- Unique identifiers is solvable (cf. National insurance number, telephone no.)
- Resolution is very difficult
Solutions:
- DOIs, PURLs, ... - business use?
- "URLs don’t' break - people break them". Think about URL persistency and naming guidelines
