]> RDF Data Source for the IEMSR terms vocabulary This RDF Data Source contains descriptions of the IEMSR terms vocabulary and its constituent terms. Terms are declared using RDF Vocabulary Description Language (RDF Schema). application/rdf+xml JISC Information Environment Metadata Schema Registry Project (IEMSR) The JISC IE Metadata Schema Registry (IEMSR) project is funded by JISC through its Shared Services Programme. The IEMSR project is developing a metadata schema registry as a pilot shared service within the JISC Information Environment. JISC IE Metadata Schema Registry The IEMSR project homepage The IEMSR Metadata Vocabulary 0.1 The IEMSR Metadata Vocabulary provides classes and properties used to describe Dublin Core Application Profiles and their Property Usages, and LOM Application Profiles and their Data Element Usages (and related resources). iemsr &iemsrtermsns; Model for Dublin Core Application Profile (DCAP) A model for a Dublin Core Application Profile (DCAP). Model for LOM Application Profile (LOMAP) A model for a LOM Application Profile (LOMAP). Agency An Agency is an entity responsible for managing one or more Metadata Vocabularies or Application Profiles and their components or for publishing a RDF Data Source or Document RDF Data Source An RDF Data Source is a document containing a machine-readable description of a Metadata Vocabulary, a DC Application Profile and/or one or more sets of instances/individuals. Text Document A TextDocument is a document containing text intended for a human reader. Binding Schema A Binding Schema is a document containing a machine-readable description of how to structure a metadata record conforming to a DC Application Profile or a LOM Application Profile. Status Vocabulary or Profile Status The current status of a Metadata Vocabulary, DC Application Profile, LOM Application Profile or Binding Schema. Term Status The current status of a term in a Metadata Vocabulary, a Property Usage in a DC Application Profile, or a Data Element Usage in a LOM Application Profile. Obligation The requirement that a property/data element should be present in an instance conforming to this application profile. Binding Schema Type The type of the schema. See also A human-readable document providing more information about the resource. Version The version number of the resource. Status The status of the resource. Metadata Vocabulary A Metadata Vocabulary is a set of metadata terms (properties, classes, and instances of those classes) managed as a coherent unit by an agency. Dublin Core Application Profile (DCAP) A Dublin Core Application Profile (DCAP) is a declaration specifying, at a minimum, which properties are used within a metadata application. Optionally, an application profile may describe how those properties have been constrained or adapted for particular purposes. A DCAP is a set of property usages managed as a coherent unit by an agency. Property Usage A Property Usage is a description of how a previously declared property from a metadata vocabulary is deployed in the context of an application. Preferred XML Namespace Name The preferred XML Namespace Name to be used when encoding terms from the vocabulary in an RDF/XML document. Preferred XML Namespace Prefix The preferred XML Namespace Prefix to be used when encoding terms from the vocabulary in an RDF/XML document. Is Member Of A metadata vocabulary (or DCAP) of which the term (or property usage) is a member. Has Binding Schema A binding schema used to structure metadata records conforming to this application profile. Uses Property The property which is used according to the conditions of this property usage. Subject Type A class of resource to which these constraints on the use of the property apply. Obligation An indication of whether a statement using the property is required to occur. Condition A description of the condition or conditions according to which a statement using the property should be present. Maximum Occurrences The maximum permitted number of occurrences of statements using the property. Uses Encoding Scheme A class of which the value of the property is an instance. LOM Data Element A LOM data element is a data element defined in the IEEE LOM standard. Simple LOM Data Element A Simple LOM data element is a LOM data element that does not contain other LOM data elements. LOM Value Space A Value Space for a LOM Data Element. Standard Value Space A Value Space for a LOM Data Element. Vocabulary A Vocabulary for a LOM Data Element. LOM Vocabulary A Vocabulary defined by the LOM standard as constraining the value space for a LOM Data Element. Non-LOM Vocabulary A Vocabulary defined externally to the LOM standard and used to extend the value space for a LOM Data Element. LOM Datatype A LOM datatype is a datatype defined in the IEEE LOM standard. LOM Application Profile A LOM Application Profile (LOMAP) is a specification of how the information model described by the IEEE LOM standard is adopted to the requirements of a particular metadata application. It specifies which LOM data elements are used, provides information on how they are interpreted in the context of the application, and describes constraints on their occurrence. A LOMAP may specify the use of vocabularies to provide values for LOM data elements where the dataype in the LOM standard permits it, and it may specify taxonomies and classification schemes for use for specified "purposes" with the LOM Classification data element. A LOMAP is a set of data element usages managed as a coherent unit by an agency. LOM Data Element Usage A LOM Data Element Usage is a description of how a LOM data element is deployed in the context of a LOM application. LOM Vocabulary Data Element Usage A LOM Vocabulary Data Element Usage is a LOM Data Element Usage which references a LOM Data Element of datatype Vocabulary. VDEX Document A VDEX Document is a machine-readable description of a Non-LOM Vocabulary or Taxonomy, structured according to the IMS VDEX specification. LOM Classification Purpose A purpose for classifying a learning object, or a category of classification. Number A number by which LOM data element is referenced (specified by the LOM standard). Size The number of values of the LOM data element allowed. Order Whether the order of values of the LOM data element is significant. Is Child Of The aggregate LOM data element of which this LOM data element a child. Value Space A set of allowed values for the LOM data element. Datatype The datatype for the LOM data element. Example An example of the use of the LOM data element. Maps to Property An indication of how the LOM data element maps to an RDF graph using the LOM RDF binding. VDEX A VDEX document that describes the Vocabulary. Extends Value Space By A vocabulary not defined in the LOM standard which provides values for the LOM data element to be used in addition to the LOM vocabulary. Classification Purpose The purpose for the classification, from the LOM classification-purpose vocabulary. Classification Taxonomy The taxonomy to be used for the classification.
