It provides the properties and classes to describe Annotations of registry resources. CORES 1.0 draft en-GB Schema A machine-processable representation of a description of a metadata vocabulary. Agency An Agency responsible for managing one or more Element Sets, Application Profiles or Encoding Schemes and their constituent Elements, Element Usages and Values. ElementSet A set of metadata Elements that is managed as a coherent unit by an Agency. The Elements of an Element Set are related by nature of having been created for the purpose of usefully describing the characteristics of a resource. Application Profile An set of metadata Element Usages that is managed as a coherent unit by an Agency. An Application Profile reflects the resource description requirements of a particular application or context. Like the Elements of an Element Set, the Element Usages within an Application Profile are typically defined for the purpose of usefully describing a resource. Within an Application Profile, the Element Usages may reference Elements from multiple Element Sets. Encoding Scheme An Encoding Scheme is a set of contextual information or parsing rules that aids in the interpretation of the value of a metadata Element. Encoding Schemes include controlled vocabularies, which enumerate a list of values, and formal notations or parsing rules, which define precisely how a lexical representation of a value is to be interpreted. Element Usage An Element Usage is a deployment of a (previously defined) metadata Element in the context of a particular domain or application. The used Element may be tailored for the context by: a narrowing of its semantic definition; association with specified Encoding Schemes; specification of cardinality constraints. Annotation An annotation for a resource Type range The range of a ®ns;Type property CORES Comment This Annotation is a Comment Comment This Annotation is an Advice Example This Annotation is an Example Explanation This Annotation is an Explanation Question This Annotation is a Question Access range The range of a ®ns;Access property CORES Public This Annotation is Public Private This Annotation is Private User A user who can annotate Administrator Administrator of the Registry Agency Name The name or title of the Agency. Agency Homepage The URL of a document which provides more information about the Agency, typically an organisational "home page". Version A version number of the resource, assigned by the Agency reponsible. Status An indicator, assigned by the Agency reponsible, of the status of this resource. Classification An indication of the use or scope of this Element Set or Application Profile e.g. the type of resource which it might be used to daecribe. Responsible Agency An Agency reponsible for the maintenance of this Element Set, Application Profile or Encoding Scheme. XML Namespace Name XML Namespace name/URI associated with this Element Set or Encoding Scheme XML Namespace prefix XML Namespace prefix associated with this Element Set or Encoding Scheme in the context of the registry. Specification Prose description of/guidelines for use of Element Set, Application Profile or Encoding Scheme. Comment A remark concerning the application/use of the Element. Datatype An indication of the type of data that can be represented in the value of the Element. Obligation An indication of whether the Element is required to always or sometimes be present (contain a value). Maximum Occurrence An indication of any limit to the repeatability of the Element. Associated Encoding Scheme An Encoding Scheme which specifies constraints on the value of this Element Is Element Of Element Set An Element Set of which this Element is part Associated XML Schema An XML Schema associated with this Application Profile Uses A used Element. Application Profiles reuse Elements from one or more Element Sets. Is Usage In Application Profile An Application Profile of which this Element Usage is part.
